Classic French Toast

French toast is probably my favorite breakfast food! There are tons of creative ways to make this recipe, but they all start with this classic and delicious base. Personally, I love to use thick slices of Challah for my bread and top with fresh fruit for a nice weekend breakfast or brunch.

Instructions

  1. First, Whisk together the eggs and milk in a wide, shallow dish.
  2. Add a dash of cinnamon and put your bread in to soak for 1-2 minutes, flipping to coat both sides.
  3. When the bread has absorbed the mixture, place it in a heated, buttered skillet to cook for about 2 minutes on each side, depending on how thick the bread is.
  4. Serve your french toast with warm maple syrup and seasonal berries or a topping of your choice.
